About Me
Hello, my name is Yann Isabel, I'm a french Design System Enthusiast currently working in Paris.
In this section you'll learn about my skills, I'll talk about my professional experiences and some of my favorite things in life. In a nutshell, all the things to know me better!
My career path
I first became interested in graphic design for what it brought to communication. The graphic design being the fact of communicating by the image (drawing, painting, animation, photography...).
After a few experiences in graphic design and advertising areas I turned to the web and more specifically to webdesign and frontend development. When we have a passion for graphic design it's obvious that webdesign is the logical next step.
I started as web integrator and quickly evolved as engineer with a specialisation for Design Systems. I worked for some companies like France Télévisions as fontend consultant.
My professional goal since then is to fill the gap between Design and Development. I'm pretty sure that I can understand both world very well and I'm convinced that they can work better together to build great products.

Things I'm interested in
Visual art
Let's say I fell in when I was a child in my first drawings. This is the domain that I'm the most interested in.
I'm fond of all creations and innovations in visual art. The Art takes multiple shapes and is often associated to performance or the emotion that some things can make us feel. In this category I obviously include the design and the interface creation that has become a bit of my new hobby.
High-tech
I'm fascinated by all the technological innovations that surround us and the impact they can have on the way we live and carry out tasks that sometimes seem to us without any possible evolution.
It's hard for me not to be interested in High Tech and technological innovations related to the design or tools that helps to create. Not to mention all the crazy innovations that we thought we saw only on TV (touch devices, augmented reality ...).
Writing
I like to read but what I certainly appreciate more is to write. I have been writing novels since my school years and although my stories have never been published and have been buried in a drawer I continue to put my ideas on paper.
Beyond paper I also write articles on Medium on different topics. We must not lose the pen even in a virtual world like ours.
I even think I read somewhere that writing helped to maintain cognitive abilities in the same way as speech. So some writing workshops are organized in some centers for people with Alzheimer's disease, for example. So let's write!
Music
I have been a self-taught bassist for many years and I also compose a lot of personal music (mostly symphonic metal, orchestral music).
I also listen to a lot of music. I work with music, I travel with music, I laugh with music and everything else.
I think a world without music would be difficult or very different. Even in the movies music is omnipresent. A film without music would not be jumping during a horror movie or get bored while Hobbits walk in the plains.
Human Relationship
Often behind a computer screen I find that human relations are still very important for the exchange of ideas, culture, point of view and especially because we are human after all.
